The finish line...

Stick to your task ´til it sticks to you;
Beginners are many, but enders are few.
Honour, power, place, and praise
Will come, in time, to the one who stays.

Stick to your task ´til it sticks to you;
Bend at it, sweat at it, smile at it too;
For out of the bend and the sweat and the smile
Will come life´s victories, after awhile.

In a 1972 General Conference, the then Elder Thomas S. Monson,
gave a talk entitled ¨Finishers Wanted¨

I always have remembered this talk.
In the mission there are a lot of different ways to reach the Finish Line
Some arrive home feeling like this cartoon
others have left the mission months earlier in their minds
and almost run to board their planes

We are grateful for those who reach the finish line with
changed hearts and strong testimonies.

This week we sent home two finishers
Elder Ruiz (from Guatemala) and Sister Blanco (from Peru)

After interviews with Pres. Prince we enjoyed
dinner together and then a testimony meeting.
The next morning came early.
Off they went to their waiting families!

We will miss you Sister Blanco and Elder Ruiz!

Eight is great!

Elders Donoso, Rivera, Rebolledo, and Gomez
Hermanas Bordolli, Alves, Sanchez, and De La O
Our April 2014 group of arriving missionaries
4 Sisters and 4 Elders
are a GREAT group of missionaries!

they arrived excited and ready to work!

A Welcome lunch to keep them going
Then a trip up the mountain to look out at their mission
Christ told his disciples,
¨Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.¨
This is the same commission for our missionaries!
And then we all attended the baptism of Alexander in the evening!
Alexander was baptized by Elder Miranda and taught by our office crew!

The next day was training...
this proverb is true when it comes to new missionaries!
We try to have the best trainers to teach them.
 Eyes shut...in come the trainers

Don´t peek!!
Meet your companion...excitement!
and here they are...
 Elders Canevaro and Rivera
 Elders Gomez and Rojas
 Elders Lyle and Rebolledo
 Elders Miranda and Donoso
 Sisters Bordolli and Mallea
A Terrific Trio...Sisters De La O, Galicia, and Alves
Sisters Sanchez and Espiritu
Time for lunch and getting to know you
We are ready!

And then more training and making commitments!

President Prince can still wow them with some good push ups!!
and the new missionaries learned quickly what a real commitment is!
They have set some high commitments for their areas
and
are off to work!
These 8 are GREAT!!!!
